Warpaint is a cali-band that started around 2004. They sound like an ethereal day dream with neon lights thrown in. I want to just twirl around and let my hair sway when I hear their music. My current favorite is “Elephants” and you can watch it below!

Suggestion Box

I had a lovely person make a suggestion to me very recently. They wanted to be able to look at my Tune Tuesdays without having to continuously click back through my old posts. I did used to have a page where I listed the bands but when I did the make over I got rid of all the pages. So I will be doing something about this soon. I probably will do a tag related section but we will see.

The Mysterious Benedict Society Book Review

I recently read "The Mysterious Benedict Society" and it left me thunderstruck. The ending reveals some information that just amazes you. I had to rethink everything about the book, that one little thing changed it entirely. The story follows four orphan children who have been given the highly important, and even more dangerous, task of saving the world. This isn't the first book to have done that but it certainly does feel like it. Stewart brought to life an adventurous, and sometimes silly, story that I couldn't leave alone. I, with most certainty, gave it a 5 out of 5 and can not wait to read the second book!

Number 3 (Check)

Today I got my first lottery ticket. Do I have unbelievable high expectations that my numbers will be the winning ones? No. But I kind of do have a small flame of hope that they might be. It's all in good fun anyway. I went with my dad on our way back home and the pen I used to write down my magic numbers leaked ink all over my hand. AWESOME! if that isn't a good sign I don't know what is. I called three close friends and asked them all for a number, which I used as my powerball numbers.

Tune Tuesday + an anime

I finished watching the anime "Red Garden" just recently and rather liked it. The art itself was different, the location was set in New York, and the girls weren't what you would consider the norm for that genre (i.e. no big boobs, not ditsy or over eager). It's about four girls who have already died. They were given fake bodies and were forced into fighting for a secret society that they know nothing about. There are 22 episodes and an OVA episode. I would highly recommend to anyone who watches it to also find the OVA episode because it shows you what they became centuries later. It was very interesting.

Update

I went back to the doctor today, and we think I have Acid Reflux Disease "ARD". Sometimes people think acid reflux just causes burping. It's much more than that; pain in your back and ribs, upset stomach, acid build up, nausea, dry mouth, bad taste you can't make go away, and a knot feeling in your throat. Plus you have to find a medicine right for you; prevacid, prilosec, nexium, and pepsid. They all are tweaked a bit and one might work while the other won't. Nexium didn't do anything for me but pepsid is working well. All that pasta, pizza, and dressings have finally came back on me...darn it!! HOW DO THE ITALIANS DO IT!!! GAH!

I'm going to try and start getting out more now, get some sun....I am GHOSTLY pale and very weak, after doing something simple like laundry i feel like i've ran a marathon. Thank you all for all the sweet words over the past few months while we tried to figure out what was wrong with me. I really appreciate it!

Day 29 + 30

That person you want to tell everything to but too afraid to: I suppose every time I ever held back a feeling. Those crushes locked up, anger that had to stay smoldering, those tears that washed away...

Your reflection in the mirror: You aren't 100% you yet. You're getting there...


Alright that's the end of the 30 day questionnaire, back to the regular scheduled program!

Day 27 + 28

The friendliest person you knew for one day: That would be Stephanie. She was assigned the seat next to me during graduation. I never had the chance to have a class with her but while rehearsal and graduation itself I had a really great time talking with her. She was a music major and you could tell. She oozed creativity. She had wavy slightly frizzy blonde hair and stunning blue eyes. She was a bit shorter than me but she was comfortable in her self...you could see that too. She had a picture of her boyfriend set as wall paper on her cell, they were engaged.


Someone that changed your life: I say, everyone I have ever met or spoken to. And I mean that.


P.s. The doctors visit was long, from 11:00am till 5:00pm. We still don't know what I have but we do know what I don't. I don't have gall stones or masses anywhere. We think it's more of a condition like irritable bowel syndrome but they want to do a few more tests before deciding. I go back Monday.

Day 26

The last person you pinky promised: That was jodi, i'm not entirely sure what we promised about...but we do pinky promise often. Oh wait, it was that we would eat chinese when i felt better! Haven't got to do that yet, I go back to the doctor again tomorrow i'm hoping this time they will find out what's wrong its been 2 months.

Day 25 + Tune Tuesday

The person you think is going through the worst time: urg.. I think probably everyone. I think everyone has "a problem" that is ripping at them whether it's job loss, death, being pregnant or being a parent, breaking up, being poor or ill, dealing with body issues, being retarded, and so on. So I think we all need a group hug! AWW that was nice, yep! NOW LET'S ALL GO GET CUPCAKES!


Well...wait First Tune Tuesday then cupcakes! I recently watched the indie flick "Juno". It was awesome and I absolutely love the song "All I Want is You" by Barry Louis Polisar that was on their soundtrack.

Day 24

Someone who gave you your favorite memory: GAH, what is with these questions?! I have many memories that I love like winning first place in my first gymnastics competition, Graduating college, Jodi looking me in the eyes and saying "You mean everything to me", sharing a cupcake with holly, painting with Jessica....many many different awesome memories that make it hard to pick just one. therefore I won't! HAH!

Tomorrow is "someone you know who is going through a tough time"

Day 21 - 22 - 23

Someone you judged by first impression: That would be everyone I've ever met in my life. They don't even have to talk to me, I just make a mental note what I think about them. Doesn't mean that it's set in stone in my mind, I could be horribly wrong. I don't think stereotyping is always a bad thing, in a way it can be a survival mechanism. Have any of you ever been walking and caught sight with someone who gave you a "Bad" feeling? well there you go.

Someone you want to give a second chance to: I don't really know of anyone.

The last person you kissed: That would be Jodi and it was FLIPPING awesome. :D

Day 20

Today is supposed to be "someone you heart the hardest" and I'm not entirely sure how to answer. Is it someone i LOVE in a romantic, family, or friendship kind of way. If we are talking about relationships then I believe Jodi wins. He means everything to me. We've been together for about 7 years and I have loved every day of it.

Day 19 + Tune Tuesday

Tune Tuesday is Nicole Atkins and the Sea! She sings in a very strong classical style that I love. She has been known to call her style pop-noir and got started in New Jersey. The video below is her song "The way it is". I get "Brake-up" song vibes from it but never the less it is a beautiful song.





And Someone who pesters me: The Chinese girl at the Chinese buffet. She would follow my boyfriend around when we would get food and one time she stuck her tongue out at me. GAH!

Day 18 + Tagged

The person you wish you could be: Healthy, happy, creative, strong, outgoing, and full of smiles.... that's what i'm striving for right now. Tomorrow is "someone that pesters you"

Day 16 - 17

Someone who is not in your state: My mind goes to Holly. She practically lives on the other side of the country from me. But during spring she came and visited me for a few days. I had such a blast and hope to see her again.

Someone from my childhood: My babysitter, she was probably one of the coolest baby sisters EVER. She would take my sister and me out for lunch and get us burgers-fries and play cool music for us, and watch movies. She got me into the movie Drop Dead Fred and the song Come On Ride It (Train). :)

Day 13-14-15

Someone you wish could forgive you: I can honestly say I don't know of any.

Someone you have drifted away from: A friend, We had fun together but we both have been going in our own directions to make our futures more real. It just happens that her road isn't close to mine. But that's okay I hope she's happy.

Someone you miss the most: Probably my mom and step-dad right now. They are out on a job assignment for a few weeks now and hopefully will be back Monday?! So i'll be happy to see them soon.

Day 12: Someone you hate

mmmmmh you know I could go into GREAT detail about someone I HATE... actually a word worse than hate would be appropriate...Loathe? Bah. I will not go into details but know dears that I don't hate many people I can actually count them with one hand. I don't take kindly to people who try to sabotage me or speak ill of my family. Karma will get you one day...know that.

Margie, my grandmother. I really wish I could talk to her more. You know there are people that can talk and talk and they don't ever get on your nerves when they do. It's soothing and just makes you happy to be listening to them.
