Tune Tuesday

I realize that I have missed a few Tune Tuesdays. I hope this makes up for it. The song this week is Crooked Legs from The Acorns. They're a Canadian band that started back in 2003. The Acorns have an indie folk sound that is easy and fun to listen to. Enjoy.

Tune Tuesday

Orion Rigel Dommisse is not just a long name, it's an indie folk band! The sound is very whimsical because of the violin and fair voice, but her tone and lyrics give off a dark twist. Want to find out more? Just visit her myspace page by clicking here. You can listen to her song "Fake Yer Death" in the video below. Enjoy!

Tune Tuesday

Bird Automatic is equivalent to a cool breeze on a sweltering summer day. The dream of floating through the clouds. An alternative pop group from Oz. You can venture to their website but it will reroute you to their myspace. They are fairly new with their debut ablum "Not Morning People" just out in 2010. Suburbs is my favorite from them so far, you can listen to the song below. Please excuse the video for it is not the official since they haven't made one yet. It's fan made.

Tune Tuesday

Crystal Castles is the experimental electronic band from Toronto. They have become rather popular with their fan base in the hundreds of thousands. Although they've been labeled electronic their music is very aggressive and loud. You could even go so far as to throw in screamo, as the main singer screams(wails) most of their songs. It's very noisy and harsh sounding. I suppose you're wondering why I even like the band? I heard "Doe Deer" and it stuck in my head. I just couldn't help from like it. It's that necessary evil you need to help unwind. I suppose that doesn't make much since. You know how if a room is too clean or bare is seems sterile? So you decorate your room with layers of things that interest you. If your brave enough to listen the song is below, enjoy!

Tune Tuesday

Lonely Drifter Karen is such a worldly soul, having lived in a hand full of different cultures. Her music is crisp with a loose melody. Your foot will tap along with the tune. You'll possibly think of Wonderland, maybe even more so now. Karen's indie cabaret style is unique to say that least. You can listen to her song "The Owl Moans Low" in the video below, enjoy!

Tune Tuesday

Tis the last Tuesday in January! The lucky band this time is Arkells. They began in 2008 in Ontario, Canada. YAY, Canadians! They have a nice alternative soulful style. They slightly remind me of coldplay but better. I'm sure a coldplay fan just shot an imaginary dart at me. They are definitely worth the listen, my favorite is "Oh, the boss is coming". You can listen below, and ENJOY!

Fun. is well HILARIOUS and unique! I love their indie story telling style. They started around 2008 in New York. They were signed through Fueled By Ramen. This indie band is certainly getting popular and obtaining more listeners everyday. My favorite song thus far is "Be Calm". The video is below, please do listen and enjoy!

Tune Tuesday

Sunny and the Sunsets are stuck in my head. Their alternative folky tunes make me want to Rollerblade down a boardwalk be-bopping away. They started back in 2007 and are currently on tour in Australia. My favorite so far is "Too Young To Burn", you can listen to it below. ENJOY!

Tune Tuesday

The First Tune Tuesday of the New Year is Mindy White. She's an experienced musician from being in various bands like (Lydia) and (States). She decided to go solo in early 2010 and the music she makes is simply lovely. Her music is very soft and clean. My favorite thus far is "We Are Birds". You can listen to it below, Enjoy!

Tune Tuesday

This tune Tuesday is the ambient group 65daysofstatic. They started back in 2001 in Sheffield, United Kingdom. Their music is a wonderful toss up of rock and electronic add-ins. My favorite song from them is "Retreat! Retreat!". Any ambient song that sounds like it's telling you a story is top notch in my book, and that's exactly what they do. You can listen to the song below, ENJOY!

Tune Tuesday

I bet you thought I forgot about Tune Tuesday! Well haha, you'd be right. I was on a mission, the mission de-clutter. You'll be happy to hear I succeeded and it's quite clean. Back to the music, this week is 東京事変. It's smooth, chill, laid back, and sexy. My favorite song from them is 能動的三分間. And you can watch it below...

Tune Tuesday

The Australian band "Howling Bells" caught my attention with their whimsical rock sound. They worked very hard to achieve what they have now, it's an interesting story. I couldn't find an official site for them other than their myspace which you can click the link above to go to. My favorite song from them is "treasure hunt" and you can listen to it below, enjoy!

Tune Tuesday

My pick this week is Carissa's Wierd. No it's spelled right i promise the band purposely misspelled weird. They started in Seattle back in 1995 and disbanded in 2003. They are known for their melancholy tunes and soft vocals. The lyrics are very sobering and to the point. My favorite from them is "sophisticated fuck princess please leave me alone"

Tune Tuesday

Time for Tune Tuesday again and this weeks band is Atakama, the female fronted Russian metal band. They formed back in 2004 and went through a series of member changes. Their first single released in 2007 and their most recent album in 2009. Eka, the lead singer, has a beautiful and strong singing voice. Plus I'll be honest the Russians have this strong language I feel is perfect for rock and metal. Another thing that I find amazing is they have made all their songs and videos available for free download on their site. You can watch the video below, it slightly reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth. Enjoy!

You can listen to their song "Tin Man" below, ENJOY!

Tune Tuesday

Mates of State is an indie band starring the married couple Kori and Jason. There is a good bit of electro add-ins but they use so many different instruments from the piano to the glockenspiel. They started back around 1997 in Kansas and are still playing today. My favorite song so far is "HA HA" and you can watch it below, ENJOY!

P.s. I now have a twitter page for Magical Chip Bag, basically i'll post the things you usually don't get to see, the songs that didn't get to be Tune Tuesday but I liked and random videos!
